Short description
This Bust of a Woman was executed by Francois du Quesnoy and is dated to 1635. The high quality of the bronze is evident in the reclining position of the woman, the sweetness of her face, the daintiness of her hair and the finesse of the veil covering her body. The bust derives from du Quesnoy's Saint Susanna, which was commissioned for the Roman church of Santa Maria di Loreto and is similar to Raphael's Transfiguration.
