Short description
This bronze consists of a zoomorphic depiction of Mark the Evangelist that was probably included in a larger composition with the other three Evangelists. The museum inventory suggests the provenance of this bronze can be traced to the Cathedral of Messina, which was seriously damaged by earthquakes in 1783 and 1908.
