Short description
This elaborately decorated inkwell is imaginatively and unusually designed. The pot is supported by three young pageboys who sit cross-legged on cushions, and an unrelated statuette on the lid depicts St. John the Evangelist. A version of the bronze is held at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, but is identified instead as Sybil with a Book, believed to be a Venetian work of the late 16th century.
